Graduated from Kwansei Gakuin University (Faculty of Law) in Hyogo, Japan.While pursuing his academic studies, he discovered a deep passion for art and design, sparking the beginning of his creative journey.

1978
Joined a silkscreen printing company in Osaka, Japan, where he simultaneously explored his own artistic expression through oil painting and began showcasing his work in exhibitions.

1981
Relocated to New York City, USA. He gained hands-on experience in a Manhattan-based custom picture framing shop, where he honed skills in fine craftsmanship, including frame construction and the meticulous restoration of damaged artwork.

1983
Joined a bespoke furniture studio in SoHo, Manhattan, specializing in creating one-of-a-kind pieces tailored to individual client needs. His work included designing and building custom wall units, bookshelves, and cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms, and vanities—each piece blending functionality with artistic vision.

1987
Founded Manabe Studio in Chelsea, Manhattan. The studio focused on architectural woodworking and custom-designed furniture for private residences and commercial spaces throughout New York City.

2003
Moved Manabe Studio to Greenpoint, Brooklyn, continuing to expand its reputation for exceptional, made-to-order craftsmanship.

2011
Extended his practice to Southampton, NY, where he began developing a distinctive line of original artworks and handcrafted wood pieces, merging artistic sensibility with fine woodworking.

1977
関西学院大学法学部卒業。
大学在学中よりアートとデザインに興味を持ち、制作活動を始める。

1978
大阪のシルクスクリーン印刷会社に勤務。同時に油絵の制作・発表も行う。

1981
ニューヨークへ移住。
マンハッタンのカスタム額装店で額装製作や損傷した絵画の修復を行う。

1983
マンハッタンソーホーのカスタム家具・キャビネット会社に勤務。
制作：ウォールユニット（エンターテイメント、書籍）、キッチン、バスルームキャビネットなど。

1987
自身のスタジオ「マナベ・スタジオ」をマンハッタン・チェルシーに設立。
ニューヨークの住宅やオフィス向けに、特注カスタム木製家具、キャビネットのデザインと制作を行う。

2003
マナベスタジオをブルックリン・グリーンポイントに移転。

2011
自身のウッドアート・クラフトのデザインと制作をニューヨーク州サウスハンプトンにて開始。
